Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is straightforward, with aromas of black fruits au gratin, mocha and sweet spices.

The attack is supple, with good balance and body, supported by supple tannins.

The character continues perfectly with the aromas on the nose, offering good persistence that is both distinctive and elegant.

The finish is of cooked prunes, offering good digestibility.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

    2021

    - The start of winter was marked by alternating periods of cool and mild weather.

    - In April, an unprecedented episode of frost severely reduced the harvest.

    - A very wet spring, followed by a long, cool summer.

    - At the end of September, another period of rain led us to give priority to harvesting the Merlot grapes.

    - Then, a return to bright sunshine meant that the Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes reached optimum ripeness.
