Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

The nose opens with freshness and intensity, with expressive notes of grapefruit, boxwood and blackcurrant buds, distinctive and very aromatic.

The attack is tangy and crisp, carried by a lovely tension and precise balance, with finesse and a distinct character of boxwood and fresh blackcurrant.

The sapid and mineral finish prolongs the wine with crispness and freshness, with medium persistence marked by a hint of lime.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE GUENAULT

Nestled on the highest grounds of Saint-Georges-sur-Cher, the first wine-growing village of the region, Domaine Guénault is a proud testament to a family's enduring passion for wine.

It was on the plateau known as "Les Hauts Lieux", just 4 km from the famous Château de Chenonceau, that Achille Guénault-Cousin, the first generation of the Bougrier family, chose to establish the estate.

Today, the single-block vineyard, spanning over 40 hectares, thrives on an exceptional terroir, giving rise to refined Sauvignon Blancs, well-structured reds, and gourmet rosés, all bursting with freshness and fruit character.
