Powerful bouquet

The nose is open and expressive, blossoming into a classic bouquet combining liquorice stick, cherry stone and cherry stalk, enhanced by a hint of nutmeg and a touch of camphor.

The attack is full-bodied and straightforward, carried by a distinctive profile, with aromas of kirsch, morello cherry and toasted wood, with beautiful tension and mineral finesse.

The finish is crisp and spicy, expressing morello cherry, leather and spices, offering an elegant persistence.

A signature wine with a strong and harmonious personality.

Features

Body The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Tannins Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

DOMAINE PRUNIER-DAMY

Auxey-Duresses lies at the entrance of a valley that descends from the Côte de Beaune into the Hautes-Côtes, along the road to La Rochepot and Autun.

Together with its hamlets, Petit-Auxey and Melin, Auxey-Duresses is one of Burgundy’s two historic sanctuaries of Celtic and Gallo-Roman viticulture.

The estate cultivates a vineyard plot that already existed 2,000 years ago, near the Gallo-Roman camp known as La Macabrée.

The village later became a dependency of the Abbey of Cluny, sharing its activities between grain mills and wine presses.
