Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
The nose is frank and delicious, with red fruit coulis, blackcurrant and raspberry, and a hint of black pepper.
Supple on the palate, with good balance and deliciousness.
A frank character that extends the nose, with medium persistence and pleasant tension.
The finish is rather supple, marked by notes of red fruit coulis and red pepper.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

CHÂTEAU DE FOUILLOUX
Château de Fouilloux has belonged to the Pasquier-Desvignes family since 1420, and since 2009 Julien Gerin has been passionately working the vines to produce a unique wine every year.
With a surface area of around 3.10 hectares, located in the commune of Cercié, this estate is built on a slightly sloping plateau with a southern exposure and benefits from full sunshine. The particularly high-quality clay-granitic soil gives the wines a fine, fruity personality.
The vines, which are over 60 years old, produce grapes of the highest quality, thanks to the plots' intense exposure to the sun. The vines, trained in a goblet shape, are cultivated using integrated farming methods, with a constant eye to controlling inputs and soil improvers.
The grapes are harvested by hand, with selective sorting carried out directly on the plot, guaranteeing optimum quality right from the harvest. The traditional, long, semi-carbonic fermentation lasts 9 to 11 days in stainless steel vats, with rigorous temperature control to extract all the aromatic richness from the grapes.
