Powerful bouquet
The nose is frank and expressive, blending fresh pepper and violet, before opening up to aromas of blackcurrant, redcurrant and a delicious hint of wood and vanilla.
On the palate, the attack is supple, with roundness and beautiful balance.
The wine displays an honest and delicious character, carried by candied red fruits, herbs and a savoury finish.
The round and silky tannins bring a lovely finesse, and the persistent finish confirms the overall elegance.

Features

This wine comes from the Seyssuel terroir, opposite Ampuis, on a 1-hectare plot facing south-west.
In 1996, Pierre Gaillard rebuilt this abandoned vineyard dating back to Roman times.
Hand-picked, completely destemmed, aged for 18 months in barrels, 50% of which are new.
