Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is clean, fresh and delicious, dominated by aromas of fresh strawberry, grenadine and cherry juice, offering a fruity and expressive profile.

The attack is taut, with a light body, true to this style of wine.

The palate is fresh, delicious and easy-drinking, extending the nose's red fruit notes with a touch of finesse.

The finish is good, with a taut and sapid finish that reinforces the sensation of freshness and deliciousness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE FRANCOIS LURTON

2024 continues the drought conditions seen in 2023 in Roussillon and Languedoc, while in Gascony, abundant rainfall and better-controlled downy mildew shaped the start of the season.

Excessive rainfall disrupted the harvest and led to low yields, forcing winegrowers to adapt. The wines nevertheless show very good quality, with a fresher style than in previous vintages.
