    Legend has it that during the Hundred Years’ War, an abbot tended to his vines by moonlight, when the battles ceased.

     


    One evening, he rescued a wounded English soldier, and during his recovery, introduced him to his sparkling homemade wine, crafted “when the valley glows”.


    Moved by these first French words the Englishman ever uttered — “le vallon luit” — the abbot named his creation Luit Vallon.


    Over time, the name evolved and was passed down through generations, eventually becoming Louis Vallon — a name rich in history and tradition.
