Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is frank and racy, expressing notes of almond and candied pear accompanied by hints of frangipane, then opening up with a note of fresh walnut.

The attack is supple, carried by creamy bubbles and beautiful balance.

The palate is clean and elegant, revealing a distinguished and harmonious character.

The finish is sapid and persistent, prolonging the tasting experience with finesse and freshness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • DE CHANCENY

The Crémant de Loire appellation area extends over a vast area of more than 250 km, crossing the regions of Anjou, Saumur, and Touraine, which accounts for the great diversity of soils, climates, and grape varieties.

Between the vineyards of Anjou and Saumur, a transition zone emerges between the ancient bedrock to the west and the sedimentary basin to the east.

In the vineyards of Saumur and Touraine, the subsoil is composed of tuffeau limestone, along with sands and flint-rich clays from the Paris Basin.

The terraces along the banks of the Loire and the Vienne rivers are made up of sands and rounded gravels, carried by the rivers and deposited over time.
