Our oenologists' opinion

Its ruby color offers a pretty wooded nose, roasted and black cherry. As for the taste, this wine is full of character, round and with a nervous finish with tannins that blend.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The pre-fermentation cold maceration (or MFP for experts) proceeds without alcohol. The aim is to smoothly extract the aromas from the skin and pulp. In Bourgogne, this process serves to strengthen the fruity aromas of pinot noir.

Domain and appellation

  • Albert Bichot

Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot has 4 areas located in the main four regions of Bourgogne : Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Since 1996, Alberic Bichot is the head of this company with nearly 100 hectares of vineyards.
    • Terroir: Well-known for its red wines, robust and tannic, Pommard is one of the most famous cities of the Côte de Beaune. It is distinguished by its dominant local limestone and red clay.
