Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Its golden color with green reflections offers a nice powerful nose, candied fruits, quince paste and notes of white chocolate. On the palate, this wine presents a beautiful balance, ample, rich, concentrated with a beautiful richness and a good freshness.

Green Gold

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Style ? Dry wines are acidic, lively and fresh while sweet wines are soft and feel round in the mouth.

Do you know ?

A sweet wine is a naturally mild wine made from very ripe grapes containing a large amount of sugar.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Vieux Moulin

    • Terroir: Located on the right bank of the Garonne, the 13-hectare vineyard covers steep clay and limestone slopes with clay and gravel on the summits. This region is conducive to the development of the fungus Botrytis cinerea. It covers grapes with a "noble rot" allowing their sugars and aromas to be concentrated.

    • Viticulture: The grapes are harvested manually several times, depending on the ripening of the grapes.

    • Vinification: Very slow pressing of botrytised grapes. Alcoholic fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by ageing of 18 months in barrels. The wine is bottled the third year.
  • Main grape

  • Grapes Sauvignon, Sémillon, Muscadelle
  • Grapes
    • Sauvignon : 20%
    • Sémillon : 75%
    • Muscadelle : 5%
