Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is open, frank and generous, marked by plum gratin, candied blackberry and roasted spices, with lovely notes of cocoa and a hint of bouquet.

The attack is fleshy, offering a beautiful envelope and good balance.

The palate asserts a frank and distinctive character with black fruit coulis, morello cherries and spices, enriched with notes of mocha and strawberry jam.

The finish is rich, supported by long, full-bodied tannins, with a beautiful persistence of plum gratin and sweet spices.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • XAVIER VIGNON

Xavier Vignon is a man of the land, with both feet firmly rooted in the vineyard. A keen observer, deeply attuned to his environment, he knows every corner of his terroirs, exploring them with passion and curiosity.

Having fallen in love with this corner of paradise framed by the Dentelles de Montmirail, captivated by its magic, colours and light, he captures their brilliance in each of his cuvées.

Every stone becomes his raw material, every plot a foundation, every appellation a structure to be built. On these vineyards rising up to 600 metres above sea level, shaped by the mistral winds and bathed in sunshine, he feels truly at home.

From the holm oaks and pine trees to the scents of thyme and lavender, right down to the natural water reserves, no detail escapes his attention — a sensitive and deeply respectful approach to nature.
