Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
The nose is open, marked by notes of herbs, cold tobacco and morello cherry pits, with a hint of black pepper.
The attack is aromatic, developing notes of lime blossom, garrigue and herbal tea, then evolving into cherry and liquorice stick, with a sapid vegetal touch.
The finish is supple and distinctive, carried by spices and roasted red fruits, in a lively and expressive style.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

LE CLOS DU CAILLOU
Clos du Caillou, a historic estate of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is now led by the fourth generation, represented by brother and sister Axel and Marilou Vacheron.
Located at the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s renowned sandy soils, the estate is planted with old vines and farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. Its wines are widely acclaimed in France and internationally for their finesse, precision and elegant style.
In a unique historical twist, the estate’s Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards are enclosed within the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, following the owner’s refusal to have the land classified in 1936, when the appellation was created. This distinctive heritage grants access to truly exceptional terroirs.
