Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

On the nose, aromas of candied pepper, blackcurrant coulis and roasted black fruit open up to hints of cocoa and mocha.

Full-bodied attack with roundness and fine balance.

Clean, long finish with a roasted character, body and good persistence.

Clean, persistent finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU CORBIN

Purchased in 1948 by the Rambeaud family, this former 17th-century estate produces a range of elegant, fruity AOC Montange-Saint-Emilion and Saint Georges-Saint-Emilion wines with silky tannins. Terroir: the 23-hectare vineyard surrounds this former Seigneurie, built in 1606. Vinification: maceration for 20 to 25 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats is followed by ageing in oak barrels for 12 months.
