Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is frank but discreet, with a woody structure and a profile that is still austere.

The attack is supple, marked by tension and a lovely freshness, but with little body.

The palate, with its light personality, expresses woody notes and a slightly straightforward character.

The finish is simple and clean, offering a wine that is flawless but lacking in real aromatic expression.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • LOUIS LATOUR

Located just south of Volnay and Pommard, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white-wine-producing commune in the southern Côte-d’Or.

The name Meursault derives from “Marsault”, a variety of robust willow with broad leaves, valued for its tannin-rich bark and weather-resistant wood.

Its ideal south-east exposure, combined with stony and marly soils, gives Meursault wines their remarkable finesse.

Typical Meursault wines tend to be powerful and are often quicker to reach drinking maturity than those of Puligny-Montrachet or Chassagne-Montrachet.
