Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is frank and expressive, opening with peppery and tobacco notes before evolving into aromas of roasted black fruits, herbs and bay leaf.

The attack is full-bodied, supported by a beautiful envelope and a masterful balance.

The palate, frank and distinctive, develops a woody and roasted finish, with a rich character of black fruits au gratin.

The finish, persistent and elegant, lingers on notes of cocoa, leaving a racy and harmonious impression.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE DE BONSERINE

Our estate consists mainly of old Syrah vines known as ‘Serine’, which are very old varieties of Syrah producing small, loose bunches with a unique aromatic expression.

Our Côte-Rôtie vineyard also contains around 3% Viognier, a white grape variety from the Condrieu appellation.
