Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Brick colour with coppery highlights. The nose is open and full of bouquet, with notes of eucalyptus, cocoa, light tobacco and candied cherry, with a hint of mocha. Velvety, fleshy attack, well-crafted, with long, fat tannins and fine finesse. Velvety, racy finish with red fruit gratin and spices, hint of old leather.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Chateau LA GRACE DIEU les Menuts

In the heart of Saint-Emilion, nature seems to have fashioned a vineyard that links the gravelly slopes of Pomerol to the west with the clay-limestone plateau of the Menuts to the east of the medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A family business since 1870 and six generations of the same family, Chateau LA GRACE DIEU les Menuts covers 17 hectares. Certified ISO 14001 and High Environmental Value Level 3, various agronomic techniques are used to encourage biodiversity in our vineyards and life in our soils, so as to improve the resistance of our vines and limit their impact on the environment.
