Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open, revealing aromas of strawberry, pomelo and redcurrant, with a touch of pomegranate and vanilla.

The attack is full, fleshy and greedy, marked by red fruit and sweet spices.

The balance is perfect, combining volume and tension with a touch of finesse.

The finish is full-bodied, with citrus fruit and lovely iodine notes, followed by a long finish of minerality and candied citrus fruit.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Bandol wines are particularly marked by the Mourvèdre grape, which flourishes in this region with its warm climate, giving the wine a powerful, tannic character.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE DE L'OLIVETTE

Located between land and sea, the Domaine de l’Olivette produces rosé, red, and white wines with controlled Bandol appellation.

Terroir: Facing the Mediterranean, the vines rest on a soil of stones and rocks.

    Viticulture: The grapes are hand-harvested.

Winemaking: A cold skin maceration is carried out for certain grape varieties. A direct pressing is also performed before a clarification of the must and a fermentation lasting 15 to 20 days.
