Fruity and well-rounded
The nose is open and distinctive, revealing notes of blackcurrant coulis and cocoa, both fruity and spicy.
On the palate, the attack is fleshy, with round tannins and a pleasant sweetness.
The character is distinguished by aromas of blackcurrant jam and caramel.
The finish is both fleshy and greedy, lingering on black fruit coulis, with a touch of candied pepper.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Located to the south of Santiago, the Central Valley is Chile's flagship wine-growing region.
A combination of factors, such as its semi-arid climate, poor soils, constant irrigation and the wide temperature range between day and night, make the Central Valley an ideal region for wine production.
Domain and appellation

Combine the ancestral expertise of the Philippe de Rothschild estate with the powerful identity of the Chilean terroir, and the result is a collection of unique and atypical wines.
Terroir: Located in Chile’s Central Valley, the Maipo Valley sits on diverse soils. The vineyards face north, benefiting from cool nights.
Viticulture: As a producer-harvester, Philippe de Rothschild also purchases grapes through partnerships with local growers. The harvest is manual and the grapes are carefully transported in crates to the winery.
Vinification: The fermentation varies from vat to vat, but it is generally long to impart a balanced tannic structure to the wine. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 20% new barrels and 60% one-year-old barrels.
