Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Very pale orange colour with grey tints. Open nose, spicy, acidulous, with notes of citrus fruit, white pepper and yuzu. Round, full attack, fat, small envelope. Character on candied gooseberry and pomelo. Sapid finish, on citrus fruits, acidulous, frank, mineral and spicy touch. A lovely wine!

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU LES VALENTINES

Located in La Londe-Les-Maures in the Var between St Tropez and Toulon, the Château les Valentines has distinguished itself with the implementation of organic farming since 2008.

Terroir : Spread over 35 hectares between the pine forest and the garrigue, the vineyard lies on a soil of schist and ancient alluvium. Viticulture: The estate was for a long time specialised in viticulture. Since 1997, however, Château les Valentines has stopped bringing its harvests to the cooperative and has taken over the vinification work in-house. Vinification: In the cellar, the grapes are pressed directly with cold skin maceration.
