Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Dark ruby colour. Open nose with notes of kirch, cherry stem and blood orange, with a hint of acidity and menthol. Beautiful freshness. Supple attack, finesse, satiny tannins. Morello cherry character with mineral notes and a hint of milk chocolate. Tart, crisp finish with a hint of warmth, lingering on morello cherry and undergrowth.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • FAMILLE MASSE

Fabrice Masse took over from his father in 2000. Respect for his father's work has always been a priority. It was Fabrice who passed on to him his passion for wine and the vine, who taught him what he knows, and he is determined to do what his father and grandfather did before him: pass on his family knowledge. But as with every generation that has gone before him, he also wants to add his own touch and benefit from advances in working methods. With the help of his uncle Roland, former manager and oenologist at the Hospices de Beaune estate, Fabrice has developed a dynamic wine merchant business. He buys the equivalent of 15 hectares of grapes and musts to complete his range.
