Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Garnet color. Straightforward nose of blackcurrant coulis, fresh spices, toasted woody core. Good balance. Frank character. Supple, round, silky tannins. Lengthening on grilled spices. Full-bodied finish. Medium persistence on roasted black fruits.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Pupils from Year 6 have come to plant 2,000 shrubs in the vineyard in the spring of 2021, 2022 and 2023. The aim is to encourage biodiversity on the estate.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU MAGNAN FIGEAC

Château Magnan-Figeac belongs to the same family as its neighbor, Château Cormeil-Figeac. It is a softer, more "ready-to-drink" wine than Cormeil-Figeac, thanks in particular to its 50% barrel ageing. At Château Magnan-Figeac, agroecology is practiced intensively and passionately. 5,000 trees will be planted by 2026 on the 25-hectare estate, which has been certified organic since the 2021 vintage.
