Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Deep gold colour with a brilliant sheen. Powerful nose, without concession of cooked fruits, smoke, ventresca. Nice balance on a full-bodied and full whisky, frank, small roundness, great character on the smoke, empyreumatic notes of tar, fresh hint of peppermint. Frank, straightforward and signed finish on a beautiful tension.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Only whiskeys distilled, raised and bottled in Scotland may bear the scotch name.

Domain and appellation

In 2020, the Benromach family distillery unveiled its brand new identity. A true return to its roots, this evolution highlights the unique character of these whiskies in the purest original smoky style of Speyside. Benromach Single Malts are made using a manual method based on the know-how of the master distillers and aged exclusively in first-fill casks. Topped with a red capsule symbolising the iconic chimney of the building, dressed with a new logo inspired by a panel formerly placed on the pagoda roof of the distillery, the Benromach bottles salute the history and authenticity of this distillery founded in 1898.
