Domain and appellation

  • Glenlivet

In 1824, George Smith obtained the first ever license of distillation of the region of Speyside. Its Single Malt became the reference of Speyside whiskies because of its elegant and fruity style obtained by the use of a particular still pot allowing a slow and controlled distillation. In those days, several distilleries tried to copy its style, even borrowing its name. In 1884, George Smith obtained the right to call its whiskey “THE” Glenlivet, the original whiskey of the Livet valley, Scotland.

    • Manufacturing: A slow and controlled distillation in conical still pots is made.
New American tanks are used to rediscover the most typical aging. The whiskey ages for 12 years, the symbolic age of Single Malts.
