Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Bright lemon yellow colour, fine, regular and persistent bubbles. Nice open nose, greedy of white peaches, fresh apricots, hint of cherry syrup, notes of fresh hazelnuts, buttered bread. Nice balance on a medium body, creamy bubble with a lot of finesse, elegance, straightforward, character with notes of brioche bread, gingerbread, hint of white chocolate. Nice finish with elegance and smoothness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Exclusively made from Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims.

Domain and appellation

  • Laurent-Perrier

Le Millésimé is the choice of an exceptional year from which only a selection of the Grands Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir will enter into the composition of a future iteration of Grand Siècle. A rare and exceptional wine that expresses the character of a year in the Laurent-Perrier style. The year 2012 was characterised by successive climatic incidents. First of all, the winter frost made the vines sensitive, then the spring frost and a dozen or so episodes of hail caused significant damage in many parts of the vineyard. Finally, a violent storm accompanied by intense hail broke out on 7 June and destroyed a large area of several communes. Despite these climatic incidents, the dry and sunny summer allowed the grapes to ripen exceptionally well.
