Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

With its straw color and luminous silvery green hue, this champagne offers you a nice frank and fresh nose, bouquet of hawthorns, glycine then buttered notes and brioche. On the palate it presents a good balance, rather full-bodied and nervous, character on the minerality. The bubbles are fine and melted.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Besserat de Bellefon

Founded in Aÿ  in 1843 by Edmond Besserat, the Besserat Bellefon House is now one of Lanson-BCC Group (Boizel Chanoine Champagne).

    • Viticulture: The House of Besserat Bellefon has a vineyard of 25 hectares, mainly located in the Marne Valley and relies on a network of growers from the BCC Group to the source grapes.

    • Vinification: Like the House Lanson champagne of Besserat House Bellefon do not undergo malolactic fermentation. In addition, the use of short-run liquor dose allows the creation of bubbles 30% thinner and creamier side. Finally, bottled, the wine will rest slowly over fine lees for 3 years, thus making a more pronounced maturity.
