Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its straw color offers a nice, frank and fresh nose of white flowers, bread and chalky notes. On the palate, this champagne has a nice balance with character on yellow fruits, notes of candied fruit, hint of gingerbread and good freshness. The bubbles are melted.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The term "Négociant- Manipulant" is indicated on the label of Bellefon Besserat, noting that the grapes are purchased, in part or in whole, to be fermented with those of the domain.

Domain and appellation

  • Besserat de Bellefon

Founded at Aÿ in 1843 by Edmond Besserat, the Besserat Bellefon House is now part of the Lanson-BCC Group (Boizel Chanoine Champagne).

    • Viticulture: The House of Besserat Bellefon has a vineyard of 25 hectares, mainly located in the Marne Valley and relies on a network of growers from the BCC Group to source the grapes.

    • Vinification: Like the Maison Lanson, the champagnes of Besserat House Bellefon do not undergo malolactic fermentation. After bottling, the wine will rest slowly on lees for 3 years, providing a better maturity.
