Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Champagnes are classified under three different categories, the crus, grands crus and premiers crus. Among 320 crus, 17 are rated as grands crus and 44 as premiers crus.

Domain and appellation

  • Henriot

Founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, the house is now one of the most prestigious in the Champagne region, thanks to its ancestral know-how and unique expertise in promoting Chardonnay.

Terroir: The Côte des Blancs is the setting for the Chardonnay grapes. Viticulture: The grapes come from the Côte des Blancs, where the villages of Mesnil sur Oger, Avize, Chouilly, Vertus, Montgueux and Epernay are among the most prestigious. Strict specifications imposed by Henriot ensure that the grapes are of the highest quality, either produced in-house or through partnerships with winegrowers. The Chardonnay is pruned in Chablis. The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable methods. Vinification: Champagne Henriot is made exclusively from the prestigious Grands Crus and Premier Crus of the Côte des Blancs. This Blanc de Blancs is aged for 3 to 5 years in the estate's cellars.
