Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
Yellow colour with bright green reflections, regular and persistent bubbles. Nice frank nose of citrus fruits, lemon peel, white flowers, quite mineral notes of gunflint. Good balance on a rather light body. Straightforward finish with mineral notes.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Domain and appellation
Founded in 1851 by Etienne Bouvet, son of a cooper, the Bouvet-Ladubay house is a true historical monument of the fine bubbles of the Loire. Through 160 years of history and passion, the saumuroise House has elaborated numerous vintages with incomparable know-how, always under the motto of Etienne Bouvet, Excellence. Located in the heart of the A.O.C. Saumur in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent, this old house is known for its 8 kilometres of cellars dug into the tufa stone.
In 2015 the house was bought by the Monmousseau family.
Viticulture: Bouvet-Labuday sources its grapes from a hundred or so partner winemakers.
