Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and light
Brilliant salmon colour, regular but rather large bubbles, nice fruity nose of strawberries, redcurrants, hints of pears, good balance, fruit, a little finesse, rather round and delicious.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
The homogeneous temperatures and humidity of the troglodytic cellars provide an ideal environment for the ageing of sparkling wines. The perched doorways of the troglodytic dwellings carved into the cliffs along the Loire will also catch the eye of those travelling along the Loire wine route.
Domain and appellation
Edouard and Jeanne Langlois founded the Langlois-Chateau company in 1912 in St Hilaire - St Florent, with the support of Baron de Bodman, owner of the Château de St Florent and the adjoining vineyard; he contributed cellars, land and buildings to the young company.
Today, the entire staff of Langlois-Chateau (37 people) is still working in the same direction, keeping in mind the quality objectives of the House.
