Fruity and well-rounded

What a pleasure it is to explore the complex nose of this yellow wine that has green highlights. Smooth fragrances of white flowers, vanilla and dried fruits are standing out. The Marsanne composes a well-balanced mouth in which the attack is supple and the finish, all about persistence.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Domain and appellation

  • Cave de Tain

    Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, the Cave de Tain benefits from the expertise of 300 wine-makers cultivating more than 1 000 hectares of vines to produce wines designated as Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray.

     

    • Terroir: The selected plots for this Crozes-Hermitage are located on soils made of clay, limestone and loess.
       
    • Viticulture: The plots’ yields are limited to guarantee an optimum ripeness of the grapes.
       
    • Wine-making: Each selection is treated separately: a soft pressing is made when grapes arrive at the cellar, before the selection of the best juices. The settling (the clarification of the juices) is made at cold temperature before the alcoholic fermentation in tanks. The wine rests on thin dregs for about 8 months. The assembly of the diverse selections is done before the bottling.
