Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Its straw with gold highlights announces a nose of citrus zest. The palate is balanced with a nice envelope and a tensed finish on mineral notes.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Style ? Dry wines are acidic, lively and fresh while sweet wines are soft and feel round in the mouth.
Do you know ?
Les Vignerons de la Noëlle have implemented alternatives in order to cope with the vines’ worm invasion issues. Alert to their reproductive system, they found a way to reduce the reproduction instead of protecting the vines with chemical treatments. The choice of “reasoned”, and not preventive, farming contributes to maintain high quality fruits and also to preserve the vines for future generations.
Domain and appellation
Les Vignerons de la Noëlle
Located between the Pays Nantais and Anjou’s wine regions, the Vignerons de la Noëlle cooperative cellar is comprised of 90 winegrowers spread across 730 hectares of vines. They mostly produce appellation wines.
- Terroir: The grapes harvested for this Coteaux du Layon come from the Pays Nantais with most of them coming from the West-atlantic area.
- Viticulture: Part of the Terrena group, all of the cooperative winegrowers are engaged in sustainable viticulture with the implementation of “reasoned” agriculture. The harvests occur in successive phases in order to only collect ripe fruits.
- Vinification: Vinified at a low temperature (12° to 14°), those wines slowly ferment in order to preserve and emphasized all of the fruits aromas.
