Powerful bouquet

Its brick color offers a nose on notes of leather, nutmeg and morello cherry. On the palate, this wine presents a rich and complex attack with silky tannins. Finer tighter, with a nice character on the spices.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

In the region of Empordà and on the Costa Brava, the grapes were harvested directly from the boats, the vines being planted on hillsides directly by the sea.

Domain and appellation

  • CondĂ© Del Caralt

    The estate was created in the 1960s under the direction of José Maria de Caralt Borrell, Comte of Caralt. It is 100% owned by the family and has inherited many years of tradition and experience in the viticulture sector.


    • Terroir: The soil of the vineyards of the lower coast is sandy, while that of the vineyards in height is more limestone.


    • Viticulture: The grapes are selected only on healthy vines at altitudes between 100 and 500 meters above sea level.


    • Vinification: The wine is bottled in the spring following the harvest to preserve its typical aromas. The breeding takes place during 8 months in American oak barrels.
