Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

A frank, open nose of white fruit, stewed fruit, toasted notes, a hint of stale bread and white pepper.

A well-balanced wine, straightforward, fresh and lively.

Creamy bubbles. Lovely character that prolongs the aromas on the nose, with a good, clean, long finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • RUINART

During a trip to the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Dom Thierry Ruinart realized the potential of his native Champagne region in producing the famous sparkling wine.

Officially established in 1729 by his nephew Nicolas Ruinart, the prestigious house continues to thrive today under its signature: “The oldest Champagne house.”

The result of a year marked by highly contrasting climate, R de Ruinart 2016 presents a balance between roundness and freshness. In this cuvée, Meunier complements the harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A balanced wine with beautiful aromatic complexity.
