Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark garnet colour with brick tints. Open nose with notes of red fruit, caramelised wood and roasted coffee. Velvety, fleshy attack, with tannins that need to grow. Menthol, plum and toasted wood character. Sapid, velvety, spicy, fairly full-bodied finish, medium persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU MAGNAN FIGEAC

Located between Château Figeac and Cheval Blanc, this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru benefits from an exceptional terroir. Château Magnan-Figeac belongs to the same family as Château Cormeil-Figeac, which it neighbours. Château Magnan-Figeac is a softer, more "ready to drink" wine than Cormeil-Figeac, thanks to its 50% barrel ageing. At Château Magnan-Figeac, agroecology is practiced intensively and passionately. 5,000 trees will be planted by 2026 on the entire 25 hectares, which has been certified organic since the 2021 vintage.
