Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Yellow with a green tint. Open nose, typical of exotic fruit, citrus fruit, hints of orange blossom, then underlying mineral notes. Well-balanced, straightforward and concentrated, with finesse. Lovely character with empyreumatic notes.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

First mentioned in 1250, the Saering rises like a peninsula from the plain, forming a ring of land. This hillside has been marketed under its own name since 1830.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINES SCHLUMBERGER

To the north of Guebwiller, Saering faces east and south-east at an altitude of 260-300 metres. The Saering, with its marl-limestone-sandstone terroir, produces a magnificent, fine and refined Riesling. Whole-grape pressing, static settling and fermentation in temperature-controlled tuns for 1 to 4 months. Aged on fine lees for 8 months.
