Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Straw yellow colour with green tints. Nice open nose, typical of exotic fruits, citrus fruits, orange blossom notes, then underlying mineral notes. Beautiful balance, frank and straightforward, concentrated, with finesse. Nice character signed with empyreumatic notes, nice length signed still young which will open up.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The Saering, which was first mentioned in 1250, rises like a peninsula from the plain, forming a ring of land. This hillside has been marketed under its own name since 1830.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaines schlumberger

To the north of Guebwiller, Saering faces east and south-east, at an altitude of 260 to 300 metres. The Saering, with its marl, limestone and sandstone terroir, produces a magnificent, fine and refined Riesling. Hand-picked.

Whole grape pressing, static settling. Fermentation in thermo-regulated barrels for 1 to 4 months. Aged on fine lees for 8 months.
