Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The clean, mineral nose opens delicately with notes of citrus fruit and white flowers, enhanced by a hint of dill.

The attack is supple, marked by fine tension and enveloping freshness.

The balance is precise, supported by a sapid, greedy lingering finish that adds crispness and liveliness.

The lingering, mineral finish prolongs the tasting experience, with its fine purity and a salivating touch.

An ideal wine to accompany seafood or a fish carpaccio with citrus fruit.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • THIERRY DROUIN

Thierry Drouin has been established in Vergisson, in the Mâconnais, since 1981. Nestled in the heart of the grand site of Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson, the estate is located in an ancient lagoon, backed by the Morvan.

The rocks originate from fossilized coral formations that emerged 160 million years ago.

Three distinct soil types can be found: limestone scree, limestone, and clay. Each imparts unique characteristics to the wines, always achieving a delicate balance between ripe fruit and mineral tension.

After 41 vintages, Thierry has retired, and his son Charles-Édouard has partnered with C&T, a renowned winemaking family from the neighbouring village, to continue producing a high-quality range from the most prestigious appellations of the Mâconnais.
