Our oenologists' opinion
Well-rounded
The nose is straightforward and complex, starting with fresh blackcurrant and hints of wood and roast, then gradually opening up to a bouquet of undergrowth, black pepper, cocoa and liquorice, with a touch of roasted black fruit.
The attack is supple, with good volume and balance.
The finish is long and clean, sustained by an invigorating freshness and a strong Morello cherry character, with a hint of kirsch to add tension.
The finish lingers on notes of mocha, with good persistence and a racy touch.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

DOMAINE FAIVELEY
Domaine Faiveley - Burgundian heritage and excellence
Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley today extends over more than 120 hectares of vines.Under the impetus of Eve and Erwan Faiveley, the 7thᵉ generation of the family, the estate pursues a quest for excellence by revealing the greatest terroirs of Burgundy through wines combining power, finesse and elegance.
The grapes are cut and sorted by hand, then the cap is punched down daily to extract colour, tannins and aromas. After 19 days in vats, alcoholic fermentation is completed. The free-run wine is run off by gravity, while a slow, gentle pressing produces a press wine of great purity.
The wines are then matured for 14 months in French oak barrels (20-30% of which are new), carefully selected for their fine grain and moderate toasting. The wine is then matured in vats for 2 months before bottling.
