Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour with garnet hues. Open and still fruity nose of sour cherries, morello cherries, notes of thyme and rosemary. Beautiful balance on a full, vinous wine. Nice character with a hint of black fruit, then fresh spices, spices of the garrigue, hint of sweetness. Finishes with tannins without fat.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • MAS DU NOVI

Since the 11th century, the Mas du Novi, a former dependency of the Valmagne Abbey, has been producing wine on one of the most beautiful and exceptional terroirs in the Languedoc, on the last foothills of the Cevennes, facing the Mediterranean, at an altitude of 150 m.

Today, this estate of 42 hectares of organically cultivated vines, in the middle of 60 hectares of woods and scrubland, is one of the benchmarks of the Languedoc Grès de Montpellier and Igp Oc.
