Powerful bouquet

A straightforward nose with aromas of grilled black fruit and candied pepper, enhanced by hints of sweet spices and mocha.

 

Supple attack offering roundness and balance, with medium finesse.

 

The character continues the aromas of the nose with hints of mocha and black fruit au gratin, supported by a good body.

 

Good persistence with a round, fleshy finish of candied pepper.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU PATACHE D'AUX

    The majority of the plots are set on a superficial limestone plateau with a thin layer of clay (between 20 and 50 cm above the limestone bedrock) and deep calcareous clay. 10 hectares of vines are established on Garonne gravel with a clay-sandy matrix along the estuary.
