Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Black colour with garnet highlights. Lovely, straightforward nose of cocoa, spices, herbs, floral notes and candied black fruit. A hint of garrigue. Fleshy attack, well-balanced, round, long and delicious. Nice character, good persistence.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

LA FORGE
The plots of land for this exceptional cuvée come from a Miocene hilltop, located on the unique and restricted locality known as "LaForge" in the land register. The blending of the two grape varieties gives this cuvée a beautiful aromatic expression and reveals the nobility of the wine through the Carignan. The Villemajou estate is the historic birthplace of Gérard Bertrand's family, and was the spearhead of the Boutenac appellation, the first hierarchical growth in the Corbières recognised by INAO, the Institut National des Appellations d'Origine.
