Well-rounded

Garnet-red colour with hints of brick. Straightforward nose of stewed red fruit, notes of pepper and a hint of butterscotch. Good balance on a medium-bodied, straightforward, fairly heady palate. Character that extends the notes of the nose, fairly supple tannins, hint of sweetness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Domain and appellation

DOMAINE DE LA CLAPIERE

In the Languedoc region, Domaine de la Clapière is located halfway between Montpellier and Béziers. The estate was acquired by the Castel family in 2006. Terroir: This 60-hectare estate, 40 hectares of which are planted with vines, is situated on a gravelly area of rock resting on ancient alluvial terraces. Each hectare has 3,500 vines. Viticulture: In the vineyard, the emphasis is on integrated farming. The grapes are harvested mechanically to speed up harvesting and preserve the freshness of the fruit, except in the case of varieties vinified by carbonic maceration.
