Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour. Lovely open nose with a bouquet of candied fruit, gingerbread, notes of undergrowth and ginger. Good balance, full-bodied, vinous. Signed character which prolongs the aromas of the nose, notes of liquorice, smoke, ripe and supple tannins. Supple finish on spices.

Features

The name of the Gatefer cuvée is that of a parcel of the property. It was added to the Domaine de La Clapière from the 2006 vintage.

    The DOMAINE DE LA CLAPIÈRE is located in the commune of Montagnac, near Pézenas, in the Languedoc region, halfway between Montpellier and Béziers. Of the 60 hectares of the estate, 36 are devoted to vines. Imbued with Mediterranean charm, the estate exudes a gentle way of life; its subtle elegance is unostentatious. As for the terroir, the alluvial terraces mix gravelly filtering zones and outcropping rocks, while a mosaic of grape varieties cohabit.
