Powerful bouquet

Gold colour with green glints. Nice frank, floral nose with jasmine and acacia. Opens with notes of white pepper, then on citrus fruits, candied, with a hint of bergamot. Full-bodied attack, full and balanced. Straightforward lengthening, tension, fatness. Nice balance. Character on white flowers, pepper. Good persistence.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • Cave de Tain

    Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, the Cave de Tain benefits from the expertise of 300 wine-growers. They produce wines designated as Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray on more than 1 000 hectares. They also produce local wines.
    Terroir : Granitic soils and fluvio-glacial alluvium, in terraces.
    Vinification: Hand-picked grapes. Gentle pressing of the grapes on arrival at the winery. Selection of the juices in order to express the best of the grape and protection against oxidation as soon as the first juices have run off. Cold settling, then partial racking into barrels during alcoholic fermentation to preserve freshness while favouring a rich aromatic expression.
    Maturing: 30% of the volume is matured in new barrels, the rest in barrels of 1, 2 and 3 wines, on fine lees for about 8 months with regular stirring of the lees.
