Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The higher the plots, the older the vineyards. On the highest ground, the vines reach 90 years of age

Domain and appellation

  • Le château d'Esclans

Château d'Esclans, 267 hectares of which 74 hectares are vineyards, is located in the heart of the Var, on the exceptional site of the Esclans valley. The château has turned the world of wine upside down by producing top-of-the-range rosés. An exceptional site in the heart of the Var, the leading department for the production of AOC rosés in Provence, the Château d'Esclans estate stretches over a hillside near the Pennafort Gorges, 25 km from Fréjus la Romaine. Les Clans, a fully fermented cuvée aged in large oak barrels, is the perfect example of a gourmet rosé. It stands out from the classic rosés by its remarkable ageing potential. However, if you are too impatient, you can enjoy it a little earlier.
