Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Fresh blackcurrant and pepper on the nose, with hints of red fruit and black pepper.

Supple attack with medium body.

Straightforward, Pinot-like length, marked by spices and red berries.

Pleasant persistence with roundness and a woody finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE PIERRE LAURENT

The Pierre Laurent estate is primarily built on two highly complementary sites. One is mostly focused on red wines (4 hectares), featuring the wonderful Pinot Noir that has made L'Etang-Vergy famous.

The second, located in Chevannes, is more centered on whites (5 hectares) and benefits from a rare South-facing exposure, giving the Chardonnay a magnificent body and color, appealing to both men and women. This high-altitude vineyard is particularly interesting in hot years.
