Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is open and rich, revealing aromas of acacia, almond milk and frangipane, accompanied by notes of vanilla and a hint of candied lemon.

The attack is full-bodied and generous, faithfully extending the nose, with richness and a beautiful enveloping texture.

The palate is rich and harmonious, expressing notes of almond, apricot and brioche, enhanced by a subtle touch of white pepper.

The finish is round and complex, offering beautiful balance, finesse and a savoury persistence, combining richness, fruitiness and spice.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • MAISON BROCARD

Jean-Marc Brocard, born into a farming family in Côte d’Or, initially left agriculture to become an engineer.
His life changed when he met his future wife and her family, winegrowers in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, who introduced him to vine growing.

His passion was further strengthened by Louis Petit, an experienced winegrower, who passed on his expertise with patience and wisdom.
Under his guidance, Jean-Marc Brocard learned to respect the land and natural cycles, mastering the art of letting the vine speak.

In 1973, the year his son Julien was born, Jean-Marc Brocard planted his first vines in Préhy and built a cellar that would later become Maison Brocard, rooted at the heart of the Chablis vineyard.
