Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and expressive, with notes of fresh strawberry, pomelo, redcurrant, a touch of pomegranate and a hint of vanilla.

The attack is full-bodied and fleshy, with fruity flavours of red fruit and sweet spices, and a fine balance of tension and finesse.

The finish is full-bodied and fleshy, with notes of citrus fruit and iodised minerality, and a long finish with hints of candied citrus fruit.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Bandol wines are particularly marked by the Mourvèdre variety, which flourishes in this warm climate and gives the wine a powerful, tannic character.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE DE L'OLIVETTE

Located between land and sea, Domaine de l'Olivette produces rosé, red and white wines in the Bandol AOC.

    Terroir
The vines, facing the Mediterranean, grow on stony, rocky soil, giving the wines structure and minerality.

    Viticulture
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, ensuring rigorous selection.

    Vinification
Depending on the grape variety, cold skin maceration is carried out to enrich the aromas.

Direct pressing is then carried out, followed by clarification of the must before fermentation for 15 to 20 days, to preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit.
