Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

A garnet-red colour with a few brick tints. Straightforward nose of blackcurrant coulis, pepper, liquorice and a hint of boxwood. Good balance, medium-bodied, straightforward. Well-typed character, ripe but not fat tannins. The finish is quite long and distinctive.

Features

    Located on the hillside of Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, the Cave de Saumur now presents itself under the identity of its two founders, "Robert and Marcel". This cooperative winery with its avant-garde image is one of the few in France to have a common set of specifications requiring 100% of its winegrowers to use environmentally-friendly viticultural practices.
