MAISON BENOIT JULES
The Les Cerisiers cuvée is a red wine made entirely from Gamay Saint-Romain, sourced from old vines harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts, followed by a maceration period of around two weeks.
Ageing in concrete vats helps preserve a fruity, spicy and mineral style, characterised by aromas of red berries and lovely freshness. The result is a wine that reflects the specific terroir and is typical of the Côte-Roannaise appellation.
Maison Benoît Jules is a natural wine project led by Romain Paire, formerly of Domaine des Pothiers. Its name pays tribute to his grandfather, Benoît-Jules Paire, a historic winegrower from this small, granite-rich appellation in the southern Loire Valley.
The estate is managed using organic and biodynamic farming methods, with winemaking carried out without additives or with very limited use of sulphur, in a constant quest for the pure expression of the terroir. -
